After an excellent summer we now approach the winter period, where fishing is notoriously much slower. That said, given the relativly shallow water and favourable Anglesey climate, Tyddyn Sargent Fishery can be very productive during the colder months of the year. Roach fishing continues to be good through the cold months using scaled down pole or waggler tactics and maggots. Likewise, bream can be tempted using the same approach or feeder fishing either midway across the main lake or to te far margin Carp fishing is less prolific during the colder months, but there is still some sport to be had if you can fnd the fish. Typically they tend to hold up on the far snags and feeding spells can be short but frantic Mr Roberts contacted us about his great nephew, 12 year old Daniel Lancett, who managed to land his first ever carp estimated at 10 -12 lbs in late October. Mr Roberts stated that 'Daniel had a wonderful day in the company of a local angler at your delightful fishery. You can see from the photos just how pleased he was at his best ever fish'. Pictures of the fish are posted on the gallery. The small lake continues to be as consistent as ever, with anglers reporting multiple catches of bream, roach and small carp up to 12 oz. If you have any photo's of your catches at Tyddyn Sargent please e-mail to jeantwist@btinternet.com so that we can put them onto the gallery. |
